Follow peace with all [men], and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord: Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble [you], and many be defiled Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but [rather] give place unto God’s wrath: for it is written, Vengeance [is] mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. [It is] an honour for a man to cease from strife: but every fool will be meddling. If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. Recompense to no man evil for evil.
